So every person who reads this post must decide to read this book...it is not even an option it is so good. We are reading it in my Christian Spirituality class and I am terribly disappointed I have not come across it till now. The great and respected author Henri Nouwen, composes Reaching Out into three easy and quick reading sections of so called 'evolving movements.' These include moving from loneliness to solitude, hostility to hospitality, and illusion to prayer. However in saying this I must put a disclaimer out there of what you may be thinking....oh I don't struggle with this or I know enough about spiritual disciplines already. Let me break those lies that I already struggled with and tell you that this book is awesome at getting to the core of our souls and not offering feeble and petty advice but rather helping us learn what it means to live into the questions and discover who we truly are. I will most likely be done reading it in a few days so if you're at Northwestern and would like to borrow it, give me a jingle :)Labels: books, favorites, God, spirituality, Wisdom
