The ways of this world surround me from every side. Today I am in desperate need of a reminder of who I am, not according to the world but according to my savior and perfecter, Jesus Christ.
I am accepted…
· John 1:12 I am God’s child
Yet to all who receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
· 1 Corinthians 6:17 I am united with the Lord, and I am one with Him in spirit
But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit.
· Colossians 2:9-10 I am complete in Christ
For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and you have been given fullness of Christ, who is the head over every power and authority.
I am secure…
· 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 I have been established anointed and sealed by God
Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
· Philippians 1:6 I am confident that God will complete the good work He started in me
Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ.
· 2 Timothy 1:7 I have not been given a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love, and of self-discipline.
I am significant…
· John 15:16 I have been chosen and appointed to bear fruit
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last.
· 1 Corinthians 3:16 I am God’s temple
Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you?
· Ephesians 2:10 I am God’s workmanship
For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
I pray we find our identity in Christ and nothing of this world that can and will weigh us down.
