About to put the dress on! |
As promised, I am so happy to share with you my weekend in small town Nebraska. You may remember me sharing about the bridal shower Hannah and I threw for our dear friend Morgan a few months back. Crazy how time flies as Morgan is now a married woman to the man of her dreams, Jake (not mine), as of June 16th :) The weekend was filled with so much joy, friendship, and many blessings. My eight hour drive there and back allowed for many moments of silence and fellowship with my Father God. The laughter between us college girls quickly became contagious after a month of not seeing each other. Many tears were shed (starting at the rehearsal even...I knew I was in trouble for the actual ceremony) in happiness for the journey Morgan has been on up to this point and will continue on now married to Jake. Absolutely ridiculous dance moves filled the dance floor. Honest conversations with my beautiful sisters in Christ about where we are each at were abounding with vulnerability and compassion. And of course the huge lack of sleep goes to show what a beautifully full weekend I had.

Here she comes... |
I am so thankful for Morgan, the sister God has provided me with. She is a radiant example of who the Lord has called us to be as believers. Her identity is formed fully in Christ and on His rock alone does she stand. She has taught me so much about abiding in the Word and guarding our hearts from ways of this world. Her life is hidden in Christ and I am overwhelmed with happiness that she is now sharing that with her husband. While it is momentarily easy for me to be selfish that she won't be returning to Northwestern in the fall, I know and trust that the ministry her and Jake are led to right now in Hastings, NE is where they are to be in this season of life and I have absolutely no doubt that they will do great things by the Lord's power alone. May God be glorified through their testimony and established faith walk. I pray their hearts would abide in the Lord first and foremost and through that a growing love for each other would flourish. May the words and actions they speak and do to each other and those around them reflect the Lord we call our Father. Thank you Morgan and Jake for inviting me to be apart of your special weekend :) Many blessings to your marriage.
