Where have I been the past three weeks? Not in blogging world that is for sure. Welcome to my transitioned life. It looks very different from this past summer, but nonetheless exquisite in the sense that I am truly enjoying the beauty of the Lord, working to serve Him in all that I do, and living in the presence and community of those I dearly love. Yes friends, I am back at college for a final year :)

F3E and all of our plaid splendor :) |
I moved back down to the good 'ol Sioux County Tuesday August 7th and jumped right into a whirlwind of RA training. We headed straight back up to the Twin Cities for a retreat to grow together as a staff and learn much about community development and the workings of inner-city Minneapolis. It was a fulfilling experience with much thought on how I live so close yet seem so far away from the so called 'problems' of this different life. The nuts and bolts of the job were in full swing upon our arrival back to the not so prospering corn fields of Iowa and before we could blink freshman move in day was upon us! Almost a week later with classes in full swing, here I sit with 30 other beautiful ladies of the Lord surrounding me on the community of 3rd East, our home for the year.
God has been stirring up the inner parts of my heart as the past few weeks have gone by. My summer wasn't filled with a spectacular out of this country experience, a high paying classy job, or another one of a kind camp experience like I mentioned many of my friends were doing yet I was blessed by the development of genuine relationships, a relaxed and forgiving schedule, and an overall simpler and more natural way of life.
[Mark 12:29-31] 29 Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
[Colossians 3:23-24] 23 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
These two verses have been pressed into my life recently revealing truth and encouragement in that wherever I am in life, whether a busy or slow season, good or bad day, confused or clear minded, my purpose is to glorify the Lord with all the I have and all that I have been blessed with because it is truly not my own rather Christ's who dwells within me.
So that's where I am at. Influenced, apprehensive, tender, fatigued, and blissful. Yet my God is a God who is so far beyond my emotions yet so close to what's on my heart. He is my constant source of steadfast love that I will cling to among this transition period.
What truth has the Lord been speaking into your life lately? I would love to hear :)
