Persuaded by many college lady friends saying my dorm room is 'pin worthy,' I have decided to start a room tour on my blog including many tutorials on how to make what I have come up with.
First up comes a reused decoration from my dear friend Morgan's wedding. I helped her come up with ideas for decorating her wedding in exchange for the decorations that she wasn't going to use post-wedding day.
Materials:
- Japanese lanterns (size of your choosing)
- Fabric (cotton works well)
- Hot glue gun
- Ribbon
- Scissors
Directions:
1. Cut the fabric into circles. Depending on how textured you want them to turn out determines how small or big to make your circles. These ones were 2-3 inch circles.
2. Start up that hot glue gun.
3. Fold a circle in half and then half again, so technically it's in a triangle shape.
4. Hot glue the folded tip of the triangle and push down on lantern.
5. Do this all the way around the whole lantern and allow the fabric to shift and move around.
6. Tie some ribbon to the metal frame and hang it up.
