The Guy Behind the Blog | March Edition

We are on to month number three of The Guy Behind the Blog Link-Up. That means you have allowed me, Laura's husband Jake, the opportunity to share some fun with you. Hey thanks for that! I've noticed bloggers usually introduce themselves saying something about being in a certain age range, drinking warm drinks, and loving Jesus. Those things are great, but I you should know that I am obsessed with Minnesota and I eat cinnamon rolls for dinner when Laura is on work trips.

1. Do you have a good luck charm or ritual?
I don't think I have any lucky charms, although I do love that cereal. If I ever want to be pumped up I listen to "Can't Hold Us" by Macklemore. Just throw in some brass to a hip hop song and I will go crazy.

2. What is your favorite dish that your wife/fiance/girlfriend makes for you?  Do you have any fun memories of a time when she tried to cook and it totally flopped or does she get it right every time?
My favorite dish, by far, that Laura makes is her famous White Chicken Chili. I am not even going to begin to explain how it is made, all I know is that Laura adds lots of things to the pot and 100 spices and herbs and it is delicious.

Although I have never tried making it, I did try to alter the chili once Laura had already made it. We were having friends over that night and I was doubting that the chili would feed all of us. I added two extra cans of chicken broth, thinking that would be a quick fix, before Laura could tell me that was an awful idea. We basically ate chicken broth for dinner that night. Whoops.

3. What did you want to be when you were growing up?
When I was a little Jake, all I wanted to be was a veterinarian. Animals are the best things on earth and seeing them happy makes me happy. Good thing I didn't become a vet, because I basically failed all my first semester nursing classes in college. The most I know how to do is CPR.

4. Which of the five senses is your strongest?
I would have to say my sight is the strongest sense. This works out well for me since I watch an unhealthy amount of Netflix. Also I am fairly confident I have a crooked face and glasses don't really work on my face.

5. Would you ever run for president?
Yeah, I think I would run after the president if I saw him, but not in a frantic way. I don't want anyone think I am danger. It would resemble someone chasing a bunch of ducks around a park with lots of arm movements. Also, I just realized the question is asking if I would ever run for president. Definitely read that wrong, but we'll go with it.
