Welcome to one of the most anticipated posts of each month - Jacob's takeover of According to Laura Jean. Each month Betsy, of Heavens to Betsy, and I co-host The Guys Behind the Blog link-up. Together we hope to provide a fun experience for your boyfriends, fiances, and husbands to takeover your blog and share a bit about themselves. Catch last month's post here for the questions. Add your post to the linkup below and visit some other blogs to make new friends! Without further ado, here is my handsome husband who loves Taco Bell way too much, Jacob.
What is the best vacation you have ever been on?
The best vacation I have ever been on would be the family trip to Yellowstone. It was a two week nature extravaganza. We did all the stops - Wall Drug, Custer State Park, Crazy Horse, Big Horn Mountains, and Needles Highway, I could go on for weeks. Basically it combined just about everything that is great in the world into one trip.
If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would you go?
This questions doesn't even seem fair, there are absolutely so many places in the world. I do not know if this would be considered a vacation, but I have always wanted to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro, so I think that we could make a fun vacation out of it. Who knows, maybe the Tasmanian Devil could be our guide.
Are there any summer traditions that you have or would like to start? (think things like big picnics, summer activities, bonfires, or day trips for example)
I think I have come to realize that I am not much of a traditions kind of guy. That being said, I would love a tradition of picking a random state park, or campground, from a list and making an awesome long weekend camping trip. Surprises are fun and it would allow us to go somewhere we might otherwise not go to.
The 4th of July is coming up - what is a must-have picnic or BBQ food for you?
Is it bad that I immediately thought of nachos? How would that even work as a picnic food? It would be an absolute mess and it does not really pair well with that "traditional" picnic food. Well, I stand by it, no picnic is complete without nacho cheese and chips.
Think of your ideal vacation. Are you in a cozy cabin, camping in a tent or hanging in a hotel?
If you have not picked up on it yet, my ideal vacation definitely involves some sort of camping. This would preferably look like a secluded campsite that requires a mile long hike to access. It would also simultaneously be next to mountains, the ocean, and incredible river bluffs. I know, I think of the impossible.
And there you have June's edition of The Guys Behind the Blog. Give a round of applause to Jacob! I hope you will consider joining us for this month's link-up and sharing your significant other with us. July's Guys Behind the Blog is all about food! Yum, what guy wouldn't be on board for that? It is scheduled for Thursday, July 30th and will stay open through Friday, August 7th. If you want to get a head start, here are the questions for next month.
1 | What is your all time favorite food?
2 | Who is the cook between you and your significant other?
3 | What is the weirdest thing you have ever eaten?
4 | Are there any foods that you absolutely detest?
5 | What is your favorite local, little-known, or hole in the wall place to eat?
