Welcome to July's edition of The Guys Behind the Blog! It is one of my favorite parts of each month as my lovely husband gets to take over this space and share a bit of himself with you. Betsy and I host this monthly link-up as a way to show off your significant other on your blog. This month's questions are all about food, because let's be real, what guy does not love food? You can find the questions on last month's post and link up below.
What is your all time favorite food?
Hands down it would be my mother's homemade Stromboli. She would only make it 3-4 times a year for special occasions. For those who don't know what Stomboli is, it looks like a french baguette that is filled with meat, cheese and whatever else you want to put in it.
Who is the cook between you and your significant other?
I would like to put on my multi-colored chef's hat and claim to be the head cook... but that would be a lie. Laura does the majority of the cooking, only because she is able to make the same meal as I would make but two hours faster. For whatever reason I really cannot cook things quickly. However, if it is breakfast we are talking about, then I am the best.
What is the weirdest thing you have ever eaten?
I am pretty boring when it comes to this question. I haven't experienced any exotic foods or bizarre ingredients. I just end up eating dumb things, like last week I am part of an Aloe Vera plant. Although the internet calls it a super food, it is trash and tastes like garbage.
Are there any foods that you absolutely detest?
Unfortunately, there are plenty of foods that I detest but one food that I have never been able to eat is raw carrots. I just can't. Ever since I was a tiny fella, I have never been able to muster up the courage to swallow a raw carrot. I also really hate white condiments like mayo and alfredo sauce.
What is your favorite local, little-known, or hole in the wall place to eat?
There is this smaller, little known, authentic Mexican restaurant near our new apartment. They have a fantastic menu full of cheap, but delicious food. They are pretty creative as they have created a taco made from Doritos chips. They are even open at incredibly late hours, just in case you would like a fourth meal or swing through the drive through. I really cannot say enough good things about this "ma and pop shop."
Next month's link-up is an extra special one as it falls a day before Betsy's wedding! In conjunction with this special day, we are hosting a love edition of The Guys Behind the Blog! Share these questions with your guy when he is in an especially romantic or sentimental mood. We cannot wait to read what his responses are. Our posts will go live on Thursday, August 27th and the link-up will stay open until Friday, September 4th.
