Last weekend we went on a family camping trip to Whitewater State Park with the Gilleland's. Jacob and I have slowly been curating a collection of camping gear and were excited to break some of it in. We ventured down to Whitewater State Park in Minnesota, which is only about two hours from our humble abode. One of the many reasons we love Minnesota is because there are so many weekend getaway places within just a few short hours.
Whitewater State Park is known for the bluffs and Whitewater River. We spent most of Saturday hiking on the trails and exploring the bluffs. Our favorite hike was to Inspiration Point. For someone who is afraid of falling, it was a bit too close for comfort, but a fun experience with gorgeous views. Along with hiking, we spent a lot of time around the campfire. The one of the best parts of camping is the ability to escape fast paced life for a bit, put the cell phone down and be present in the moment. We loved our time away! And if you are a Minnesotan, I highly suggest Whitewater State Park.
